I was born in Wichita, Kansas in 1940. I was a busy, adventurous young girl living with my parents and older sister.
I attended Sunnyside Elementary, Roosevelt Jr. High, and East High School, graduating in 1958.
In 1962, I graduated from the University of Kansas with double majors in Sociology and Mathematics.
My first career was as a computer professional starting with IBM in 1962, then the University of Kansas Medical Center and finally Johnson County Community College.
After receiving an M.S. in Mathematics and a Ph.D. in Statistics at Kansas State University, I joined the faculty at the University of Missouri and moved to Columbia in 1977. I then had a research position with the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture working in the AGRISTARS program before starting my statistical consulting company, Sebaugh’s Information Services (SIS).
Over 25 years, I worked with dozens of clients and companies, including graduate students at UMC, local businesses, and companies from coast-to-coast. I helped biological scientists who worked for pharmaceutical companies developing new drugs and others who worked in the environmental sciences testing new products for toxicity.
Diane and I became partners in 1991. We both enjoyed traveling. During the 29 years we traveled together, we went on a total of 43 international trips, visiting 55 countries and all seven continents.
